HPC Senior Consultant for Power and Cooling

Role Overview:

The Lenovo HPC Professional Services team is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant specializing in Power and Cooling. While preference is given to candidates based in Germany, other EU locations will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze intricate RFP specifications concerning facility power and cooling systems, assisting IT architects in crafting suitable IT solutions.
  • Design advanced power and cooling systems for both air and water-cooled IT infrastructures.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to clarify requirements and establish success metrics for infrastructure enhancements.
  • Collaborate with sales teams and engineering experts to define the scope of solutions and estimate costs.
  • Document solution specifications and conduct reviews with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work closely with engineers and developers to ensure clarity in tasks and adherence to acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain ongoing partnerships with internal and external clients to meet project objectives.
  • Guide decisions on build vs. buy options and identify essential technologies for product development.
  • Actively participate in the physical setup of complex IT systems, whether air or water-cooled.
  • Provide engineering insights across various disciplines, including power/electrical, mechanical, thermal, plumbing, and controls.
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships for the delivery of solution components.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional customer engagement skills with a capacity for making informed technical decisions.
  • Experience in technology fields such as power/electrical or mechanical/thermal engineering.
  • Knowledge of data center power delivery frameworks.
  • Understanding of cooling systems and heat transfer in IT environments.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and resolve issues effectively.
  • Experience leading technical consulting engagements in power and cooling.
  • Ability to develop training materials and documentation throughout your career.
