Job Description

The refrigerant circuit is a critical component of many industrial processes, and optimizing its performance is essential for improving efficiency and reducing costs. One key area of focus is the liquid-gas-separator (LGS), a component that separates a two-phase (vapor-liquid) mixture into pure vapor and pure liquid. In vehicle applications, the primary requirement for the design of LGS is to minimize its size while maintaining a high level of separation efficiency.

During your assignment, you will develop the simulation workflow to simulate the two-phase flow within the LGS. This will involve using numerical simulations (CFD, FEM,...) to model the behavior of the refrigerant and the LGS. You will also design the experimental setup to validate the observations in the simulations.

Furthermore, you will conduct and evaluate measurements and interpret the results. This will involve collecting data from the experimental setup and analyzing it to determine the performance of the LGS. You will also compare the simulation and experimental results to determine the accuracy of the simulations.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Process Engineering, Automotive Engineering or comparable
  • Experience and Knowledge: With numerical simulations (CFD, FEM,...) and measurements
  • Personality and Working Practice: High motivation for practical work and curiosity
  • Language: Good in German or English
