Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Development Engineer for our team in the development department. You will be involved in the conception, development, and testing of interior and exterior components as well as the validation of complete vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conception and development of interior and exterior concepts within the scope of series and further development
  • Comprehensive consideration of development under consideration of function, design, costs, weight, quality, and assembly requirements
  • Assumption of component responsibility in the area of interior/exterior (including monitoring and optimization of components with regard to function, costs, weight, and deadline)
  • Accompaniment of the development process of complete vehicles
  • Independent technical support of development partners and series suppliers in the construction of components as well as cost and deadline control
  • Conducting tests and evaluation of test results for the release of functionality
  • Creation and monitoring of overviews of free-giving product changes
  • Regular reporting and reporting to the management and project management on the project status
  • Point of contact for all external and internal interfaces
  • Creation of task lists
  • Test-side securing of components
  • Status presentation and participation in project team meetings
  • Analysis of test results and error correction
  • Participation in the creation of documentation
  • Creation of CAD drawings and 3D models
Requirements
  • Completed studies in the field of mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in the automotive industry, preferably in the field of complete vehicle development
  • Experience in the development of interior and exterior components
  • Experience in conducting tests and validation
  • Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking
  • Team skills and well-developed communication skills
  • Knowledge of the product creation process (PEP) of Mercedes-Benz AG
  • Ideal experience as component responsible or experience as constructor (m/f/d)
  • Knowledge of Siemens-NX and/or CATIA V5
  • Confident appearance in presentations
  • Analytical and structured way of working
  • Well-developed team and communication skills
