Principal, Employee Relations Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Employee Relations team in Berlin. As Principal, Employee Relations, you will play a critical role in shaping our company culture and ensuring compliance with German employment law.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert advice and guidance to our People Partners and business leaders on employment-related matters, including disciplinary procedures, grievances, and performance management.
You will also be responsible for building strong relationships with our Employment Legal team, compliance, and investigations teams to ensure a balanced approach to risk management and decision-making.
In addition, you will curate and deliver relevant training and education to improve HRBP and leader effectiveness and drive better ER decisions.
Key qualifications include at least 5+ years of professional experience in German employment law and employee relations, a Bachelor's degree in HR or Employment Law, and fluency in English and German.
We are looking for a creative problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills, communication, and stakeholder management skills. If you are a hands-on, customer-obsessed individual with a track record of working in complex organizations in Germany, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a consistent, knowledgeable, and professional service in areas including disciplinary, grievance, probation, performance, long-term sick leave, etc.
- Provide sound, expert ER advice and guidance to People Partners and business leaders on reorganization and restructuring activity.
- Curate and deliver relevant training and education to improve HRBP and leader effectiveness.
- Build partnerships with business leaders and our People Partner team to sustain positive employee relations practices.
- Foster strong working relationships with our Employment Legal team, compliance, and investigations teams.
- Prepare information and consultation of works councils to advise on business decisions and participate in negotiations with works councils in committee proceedings.
