Wind Farm Control Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a key player in the Nordex Group, you will be responsible for the global commissioning of our advanced wind farm controllers, primarily through remote operations. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of these systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the commissioning processes for wind farm controllers, including controller interfaces and grid code testing preparations.
  • Maintain regular communication with client experts to define project-specific requirements and devise effective testing and solutions.
  • Acquire hands-on experience in executing and finalizing wind farm controller projects.
  • Assist in negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to facilitate project success.
  • Collaborate with department leads to test and enhance operational processes within the Windfarm Control Operations team.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
  • Comprehensive understanding of wind farm controller tools and processes, including experience with grid operator and customer interfaces such as Hardwired, Modbus TCP, IEC, OPC UA, and DNP3.
  • Certification as an electrically skilled person (German: Elektrofachkraft) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with wind turbine technologies is a plus.
  • A self-motivated, organized, and solution-focused work ethic.
  • Excellent communication abilities along with strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; knowledge of German, Spanish, or other languages is beneficial.
  • Strong intercultural awareness and the ability to thrive in collaborative, multitasking environments.
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes (5-10%).
