Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Product Safety Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our flagship VoloCity aircraft and future aircraft. Your primary focus will be on defining safety objectives, deriving and validating safety requirements, and preparing system-level safety analyses.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with colleagues to define safety objectives and derive safety requirements
  • Be a member of our Product Safety Team, responsible for Safety Analysis, including PSSA and SSA
  • Prepare and create system FHA, FTA, FMEA, FCA
  • Coordinate and manage safety activities with external suppliers
  • Specify and support the validation and verification activities of system requirements
  • Support system-level or component-level milestones, like design reviews
  • Highlight and examine safety concerns associated with proposed new design architectures

Requirements

  • Full working proficiency in English
  • University degree in Engineering (Aeronautical Engineering preferred)
  • Knowledge of ARP4761, ARP4754A
  • Detailed knowledge and at least 3 or more total years of experience with aviation safety and reliability assessment, systems engineering, and requirement management
  • Experience in development and certification of aircraft-systems, engines, or complete aircraft
  • Team player with good communication skills

Bonus Skills

  • Knowledge and work experience in multicopter, tilt-rotor, helicopter aircraft platforms
  • Knowledge of SC-VTOL
  • Experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE)
  • Compelling verbal or written negotiation skills
  • Basic knowledge of Li-ion batteries, Brushless DC motor control, High Voltage DC Power Distribution Systems, Digital Communication Buses, Flight Control System, and Avionics
