Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist in Fiber Drawing Technology to join our team at Fraunhofer IOSB. As a key member of our Laser Technology department, you will be responsible for developing, investigating, and optimizing processes for high-power laser fibers from bulk glasses in the fluoride material system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimize fiber draw techniques for multi-clad fibers, polarization-maintaining fibers, and novel fiber geometries.
  • Contribute to the scientific investigation of fiber lasers to evaluate different fiber laser architectures.
  • Work independently on projects in the field of fiber drawing research and write reports and publications in English.
Requirements:
  • Degree in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or equivalent disciplines.
  • Knowledge and relevant professional experience in fiber draw processes and related equipment.
  • Basic knowledge in fiber lasers is an advantage.
