About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at Greenlyte Carbon Technologies. As a key member of our Hardware Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing our next-generation Direct Air Capture (DAC) plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop the absorption and desorption units for our DAC plants, ensuring compliance with industry norms and regulations.
  • Choose process components, such as sensors, valves, pumps, and vessels, according to requirements and translate P&ID's into 3D CAD designs.
  • Design and develop parts and plant units according to industry standards, with a focus on mechanical design and engineering.
  • Manage mechanical design projects, including initial factory ideation, machine commissioning, and hand-off to manufacturing or test engineering.
  • Design piping infrastructure according to industry norms, including the Pressure Equipment Directive, Operational Safety Ordinance, and Federal Immission Control Act.
  • Rapidly iterate on process optimization and development testing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure hardware integrates with the DAC plant and supports necessary process operations.
  • Lead design reviews internally and externally with suppliers and customers.
  • Be responsible for project delivery timelines from early design through production, commissioning, and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Completed studies in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, or a comparable qualification.
  • Extensive experience in plant engineering or special machinery construction projects, especially those involving liquid mediums.
  • Proficient in CAD, particularly Autodesk Inventor, with a focus on innovative design.
  • A problem solver with a hands-on mentality, eager to lead projects from ideation to pilot production.
  • Fluent in English, with German skills being a significant advantage.
  • Willing to occasionally travel and work on-site as needed, with relocation support available.
