Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Human Development is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Scientist to lead its MR Physics Group. As the Head of the group, you will be responsible for developing and applying advanced MR imaging methodologies to investigate age-related and experience-dependent changes in the human brain.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement novel MR imaging techniques for longitudinal and cross-sectional studies
- Lead a research group to design and conduct interventional studies using MR imaging
- Collaborate with scientists from cognitive neuroscience to develop and apply MR imaging methods
- Ensure optimal stability of the MRI system and maintain a high level of technical expertise
- Develop and maintain open-source MRI software tools
Requirements
- PhD in physics, chemistry, biology, neuroscience, or related field
- Experience in MR sequence programming, image reconstruction, and artifact mitigation
- Strong track record of relevant publications in MR methods and applications
- Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
- Fluency in computer programming (e.g., MATLAB, C)
