About the Role
The Electrical Systems engineering team at Siemens Energy is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join their team in Erlangen, Germany. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the specification, selection, design review, cost calculation, and quality control of electrical components for simple and combined cycle power plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical components, including static excitation systems, startup frequency converters, and low voltage switchgear systems.
- Collaborate with customers, vendors, and various engineering disciplines to develop and implement technical solutions.
- Contribute to the development of electrical concepts and system designs for reference power plants and their project-specific adaptation.
- Support the development, maintenance, and tracking of costs for equipment and cost calculation tools used by bid management.
- Provide technical support to bid management during proposal activities and supply chain management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or higher combined with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in the technologies of electrical components used in fossil power plant and synchronous condenser applications.
- Expertise and experience in the design and specification of static excitation systems, startup frequency converters, and low voltage switchgear systems.
- Proficiency in the interpretation and application of relevant international and local standards governing the design and installation of electrical components.
- Ability to focus on detailed work and handle multiple tasks in parallel while meeting high quality standards and set timelines.
- Excellent team player and communicator; fluent in German and English (written and verbal).
