About the Role:

M.C. Dean is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist 2 to join our team. As a Cybersecurity Specialist 2, you will play a critical role in supporting senior team members in developing, maintaining, and improving secure systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior team members in developing, maintaining, and improving secure systems, ensuring compliance with DISA STIG settings and industry-accepted technical security standards.
  • Mentor junior team members on tasks for continuous development, promoting knowledge sharing and skill enhancement.
  • Apply system Operating System patches, Service Packs, Hotfixes, and software/firmware updates, ensuring seamless system operation.
  • Establish and support automated system software update methodologies and technologies, streamlining maintenance processes.
  • Perform system vulnerability scans using Nessus/ACAS and SCAP Compliance Checker (SCC), identifying potential security risks.
  • Contribute to research and analysis, translating security policy and requirements into actionable best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance on implementation of security mechanisms and controls, ensuring effective security posture.
  • Complete and verify device configuration of Operating Systems, Applications, and Network devices to comply with DISA STIG guidance.
  • Stay current on industry trends and available CS doctrine, applying knowledge to improve security practices.
  • Identify industry-accepted technical security standards and policies driving compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Must have a DoD Secret clearance, with Top Secret clearance preferred.
  • Requires up to 75% travel, with flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Risk Management, or Cybersecurity, with relevant experience.
  • Certifications: CCNA-Security, GICSP, PGSECSecurity+, CESSCP, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Operating Systems (Windows, Linux), MS Office Suite, DISA SCAP Compliance Checker, DISA STIG Viewer, Tenable Nessus, Wireshark, HIPS, Antivirus, and Anti-Malware.
