The Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn is seeking a dedicated (Senior-) Research Fellow (m/f/d) to contribute to the ERC project SIMTWIN, focusing on the ethical and societal dimensions of Digital Twins in healthcare.
This role is initially offered for a duration of three years, with the possibility of extension for an additional two years, contingent upon project needs.
SIMTWIN is designed to systematically explore the ethical and societal implications associated with the deployment of Digital Twins in the healthcare sector. As these innovative technologies evolve, they pose significant challenges to traditional understandings of health, illness, and medical practice.
Our objective is to conduct a thorough analysis of the normative challenges presented by these technologies, ultimately developing a cohesive theoretical framework for health simulations.
- Conducting research within the framework of the ERC project SIMTWIN.
- Leading research initiatives alongside the Principal Investigator.
- Designing and executing empirical field studies.
- Publishing findings in reputable international journals.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Master's degree and a PhD in ethics, theology, philosophy, social sciences, or law.
- Published work in AI Ethics, social ethics, or technology ethics.
- Familiarity with contemporary methods and theories in hermeneutics, science and society studies, and empirical ethics.
- A strong interest in transdisciplinary research questions related to AI ethics.
- Proven leadership abilities in managing research teams.
- Excellent proficiency in both oral and written English.
