Research Focus

The doctoral thesis will concentrate on functional software generation, a crucial area for enhancing design productivity in both hardware and software domains. The current state of code generation primarily addresses structural aspects, leaving functional generation significantly underdeveloped. This research aims to bridge that gap and demonstrate the advantages of functional software generation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a generic methodology for modeling functionality that is independent of programming languages.
  • Map this model to a target-specific code generation framework.
  • Focus on generating code for C, C++, and RUST, with potential extensions to SystemC, VHDL, and Verilog.
  • Incorporate assembler and specialized instruction support in the models.
  • Explore multi-precision floating-point operations for AI and DSP applications.
  • Conduct end-to-end validation using RISC-V as the target processor.
  • Contribute to open-source projects.
