Backed by a product lead and a dedicated engineering team, the designers in the Design System team oversee our design system initiatives across Miro, including both desktop and mobile experiences.
About the RoleAs a leader within the Design System team, you will spearhead the vision and development of Miro's product design language, ensuring alignment with our design principles and accessibility standards.
Your role will involve setting high standards for design quality and managing a small team of senior designers while collaborating closely with product and engineering partners.
You will define the vision for the design system, guiding brand and product designers in evolving and systematizing Miro's product design approach. This position requires a methodical approach to solution design, coupled with strong product design skills, a keen aesthetic sense, a passion for solving complex problems, and a solid understanding of the latest accessibility standards.
What You'll Do- Develop and enhance Miro's product design language to create a modern, unique user experience that reflects Miro's brand identity.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to articulate a clear vision and roadmap for Miro's Design System.
- Provide strategic and creative guidance to the team in executing this vision.
- Lead design critiques and reviews to elevate design quality across the organization, while being hands-on when necessary to convey ideas and concepts.
- Foster a culture of shared ownership and collaboration within the design organization and cross-functional teams.
- Over 10 years of experience in product design, with a focus on managing product and brand design systems at scale.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design craft in visual interface design, showcasing expertise in scaling visual and motion design concepts across various applications and platforms.
- At least 2 years of experience leading design teams with an emphasis on design systems and accessibility.
- Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with design documentation and system governance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by a collaborative mindset and leadership abilities.
