Project Management Role for HVDC Control & Protection Hardware at Siemens Energy

As a Project Management Specialist focusing on HVDC Control & Protection Hardware, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of project management and technical experts to develop and implement comprehensive HVDC control and protection solutions for grid connections associated with renewable energy sources and interconnectors, leveraging transient network analysis.

  • Assume accountability for the preparation of bids and the execution of projects related to the hardware of control and protection systems for High Voltage Direct Current transmission systems, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical direction to the control and protection hardware bid/order processing team, working closely with project management and specialists from various hardware engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee the planning, monitoring, and management of bid/order processing, which includes technical conceptualization, scope definition, scheduling/resource allocation, cost estimation, pricing strategies, quality assurance, as well as risk and opportunity management.
  • Manage subcontracting processes, reporting, information management, audits, contract finalization, and conduct thorough process and design evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant professional experience and a proven track record in project management.
  • Expertise in inverter technology, high-voltage systems, and control systems, with preferred knowledge in HVDC technology and plant engineering.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English, suitable for an international work environment.
  • Experience in intercultural settings and a willingness to travel.
