Job Title: Sales Director - Travel

We are seeking a highly experienced Sales Director to lead our Travel Sales team in the DACH market. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing Sales and Customer Experience, driving revenue growth, and building a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Management:
    • Recruit, onboard, and train Sales Specialists to achieve sales targets and exceed customer expectations.
    • Set performance plans, standards, and goals for Associate Sales Directors, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Collaborate with Sales Managers and internal teams to innovate processes, enhance efficiency, and drive business growth.
    • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Associate Sales Directors to review performance, set goals, and provide feedback.
    • Foster personal development through annual individual development plans and regular reviews, ensuring team members are equipped to succeed.
  • Customer Experience Management:
    • Lead a small Customer Experience team, overseeing the formation of an On Trip team to handle customer queries during travel, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the German market in partnership with the Marketing Director, staying up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
    • Resolve escalated customer issues and support in crisis situations, demonstrating a customer-centric approach.
  • Business Management:
    • Represent the German operations within the company, providing regular updates on sales performance, revenue growth, and team development.
    • Set and monitor sales quotas, targets, and revenue forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Oversee budgeting, workforce planning, and the success of the local office, making informed decisions to drive business growth.
    • Collaborate with the UK-based Finance team on reporting and audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
    • Develop strategies to improve revenue per lead, customer experience, loyalty, and team engagement, driving business growth and customer satisfaction.
    • Work closely with the local Marketing team to attract and retain customers in Germany, leveraging market insights and industry trends.
    • Analyse sales and customer experience data, address performance gaps, and report findings to leadership, informing business decisions.
    • Lead cross-functional projects, especially in technology, driving innovation and business growth.
    • Monitor competitor activity and represent the company at industry events, staying ahead of the competition.
    • Enhance professional knowledge by attending workshops, participating in industry networks, and staying informed on industry trends.
Qualifications:
  • Proven leadership experience in sales, preferably in the travel industry, with a track record of driving revenue growth and building high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a team, focusing on customer experience.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning, with a proven ability to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
