Physicist/Engineer (m/f/d) for Particle Beam Technology/Control

At Applied Materials, we are seeking a highly skilled Physicist/Engineer to join our R&D team in the development and testing of our future generations of electron beam columns. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the design, construction, and operation of particle beam systems, as well as the development of novel technologies for inspection and metrology in the semiconductor industry.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop novel particle beam systems fulfilling high-end technical requirements for inspection and metrology in the semiconductor industry.
- Define system requirements and specifications, troubleshoot system problems, and plan and conduct tests of new technologies on prototypes in the laboratory.
- Collect, analyze data, and design statistically valid experiments to evaluate new technologies and pursue innovative solutions.
- Guide less experienced physicists/scientists and collaborate with multidisciplinary international R&D teams.
- Scientific and technical degree, preferably with a doctorate in physics or a comparable discipline (e.g. physical technology, optics).
- Practical experience in the design, construction, and operation of particle beam systems.
- Knowledge of electron microscopy (SEM/TEM) and electron optics, as well as high-voltage technology and ultra-high vacuum systems.
