Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Category Buyer to join our team in the Mannheim/Heidelberg region. As a Category Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to ensure a customer-oriented and competitive product assortment.

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Analyze market trends, identify new suppliers, and negotiate optimal terms and conditions
  • Calculate sales prices and apply the marketing mix in collaboration with the sales department
  • Conduct market and competitor analyses through store checks, trade show visits, and supplier meetings
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Analyze market trends, identify new suppliers, and negotiate optimal terms and conditions
  • Calculate sales prices and apply the marketing mix in collaboration with the sales department
  • Conduct market and competitor analyses through store checks, trade show visits, and supplier meetings
Requirements
  • Completed commercial education or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in procurement, product management, or category management in a retail company
  • Proficient in MS Office and common ERP systems
