Legal Working Student

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Working Student to support our global legal team in various tasks related to contract negotiation, including non-disclosure, customer, and vendor agreements. This role is based in Berlin or remote in Germany, offering 20 hours per week, and is ideal for students pursuing a related field of study.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate contracts with customers and vendors from diverse industries, working independently and in collaboration with our Legal Counsels.
  • Assist with a wide range of legal matters, focusing on contract law, IT law, data protection law, and IT/IP law.
  • Work closely with our Legal Counsels and VP Legal, Marketing, IT, and Sales teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support our privacy (GDPR) compliance by ensuring necessary documentation is produced and processes are followed.
  • Conduct independent legal research on new laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • You are an enrolled law student at a German University with a focus on studies and/or genuine interest in start-ups and technology, preferably in your 5th semester or higher, or you are studying for your Master's degree in law at a German university for a minimum of 1 year.
  • Basic knowledge and previous experience in privacy and data protection and/or contract law would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience as a working student or intern in a legal department and/or start-up is considered a strong plus.
  • You have a keen interest in technology and cloud services.
  • You have strong administration skills, are detail-oriented, and a fast learner with good communication skills.
  • You are a team player but can also work independently.
  • You have excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written. German, French, or Spanish language skills are a strong plus.
