Role Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of over 15 skilled engineers specializing in database internals.
- Contribute to the development of the next-generation database platform utilizing and enhancing the latest open-source technologies.
- Identify and address performance and scalability challenges related to storage, memory, and computing.
- Create sophisticated solutions using modern C/C++ programming within a highly automated build and testing environment.
- Enhance system reliability and observability by designing self-diagnostic and self-healing capabilities.
- Adopt advanced development practices focused on performance, reliability, and error mitigation.
- Work closely with core and cross-functional teams to build the next-generation database engine for ServiceNow.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- Deep understanding of computer systems architecture, including threads, networking, and kernel.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills complemented by knowledge of C/C++ and SQL.
- Experience with test-driven development methodologies.
- Solid grasp of agile software development practices within a large, dynamic team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to oversee complex tasks, synchronize with team members, and mentor junior engineers.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to articulate them in design documents and architectural discussions.

- Experience with operating systems, memory management, multi-threaded software, or distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with relational databases, particularly MariaDB and/or Postgres.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 years in professional software development.
- In-depth knowledge of operating systems, complex software products, or database systems.
- Proven success in delivering software features or sub-modules from inception to completion.
- Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and SQL.
