Position Overview
Join STRABAG Großprojekte GmbH as a Trainee in Cost Estimation for major infrastructure and construction projects. This comprehensive 12-15 month program is designed to provide you with a personalized development plan aimed at preparing you for a successful career in cost estimation. You will engage in various tasks, including preparing bids and offer calculations, estimating costs for construction services, and coordinating price inquiries with subcontractors in collaboration with the procurement team.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Conducting quantity take-offs based on construction documentation
- Preparing order calculations and identifying opportunities for cost savings
- Maintaining and updating calculation data
- Developing technical concepts related to bid calculations
- Performing project-specific risk and opportunity assessments
Throughout the program, you will rotate through different departments, gaining a well-rounded understanding of construction projects from the initial bid to project completion. The training includes:
- Preconstruction activities
- Cost estimation processes
- On-site project management and billing
- Procurement and laboratory work
- Participation in skill development programs
- Optional international assignment for three months
Qualifications
- A completed degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- A strong interest in pursuing a career as a Trainee with the aim of becoming a Kalkulator:in for infrastructure and large-scale projects
- Previous experience in construction management or estimation is advantageous, such as internships or student roles
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with estimation software (e.g., iTWO) is preferred
- Ability to work independently with a strong commitment to teamwork
- An entrepreneurial mindset with excellent interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and a willingness to travel
