Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student assistant to support our research project on thermochromic switchable glazing. As a student assistant, you will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that combines physics, chemistry, and materials science.

Responsibilities
  • Design, simulation, and setup of a heating structure for a mapping table to measure thermochromic coatings in transmission and reflection.
  • Test and optimize the setup to ensure homogeneous substrate temperature.
  • Contribute to the project "Intelligent, passively switchable vanadium oxide-based coating for architectural glass".
Requirements
  • You are a student in the fields of physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, microtechnology, or a related field.
  • You bring the following skills and qualifications:
    • Interest in scientific work
    • Enjoy developing your own solutions with a high technical understanding
    • Enjoy applying theoretical knowledge in a practical setting and bringing new ideas to the table
    • Vorkenntnisse in the field of simulation (electrical potential distribution and heat conduction) and control technology are an advantage
    • Vorkenntnisse in the field of vacuum technology and sputter coating technology are an advantage
    • Good to very good academic performance
    • Independent, careful, and motivated working style with a hands-on mentality
    • Good knowledge of the MS-Office package
    • Very good German and English language skills
