About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Embl-Ebi as a Trainee – Resource Development Specialist, where you will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of fundraising and corporate relations events.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of fundraising and corporate relations events, working closely with other departments to ensure successful outcomes.
- Update donor data in software programs and enter new donor data in collaboration with team members, performing regular data checks in the CRM system.
- Support with mailings, filing, and other administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Conduct research on prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors to identify potential opportunities.
- Liaise with the internal communications department to maintain up-to-date fundraising webpages and assist with content uploads.
- Attend department and team meetings to stay informed and contribute to discussions.
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of donor communication and impact reports to showcase the organization's work.
- Perform other tasks as required to support the team and achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
- Interest in the nonprofit sector and a passion for fundraising and corporate relations.
- Fluency in English, with German being an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively interact with stakeholders.
- Previous nonprofit experience and/or coursework in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, and communications is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet use is required, with knowledge of InDesign and WordPress being an asset. Experience working with CRM databases is beneficial.
