Your Role
As a Development Engineer for Rail Vehicle Interior Design, you will work together with experienced colleagues to design and construct the passenger trains of tomorrow and beyond. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing innovative concepts and detailed technical solutions for assemblies and systems in the area of interior trim and interior fittings.
- Designing responsible assemblies and systems in 3D-CAD (Creo) and coordinating the detailed design with internal and external designers and draftsmen at various international locations.
- Coordinating your design with shareholders such as interface partners, project management, purchasing, and manufacturing.
- Developing and integrating mechanical and electrical subsystems, taking into account relevant requirements and cross-cutting issues.
- Tendering the manufacture of your assemblies to suppliers by means of detailed specifications and defining required inspections and tests.
- Accompanying and supporting the assembly of the systems for which you are responsible in our production and assessing new requirements from customer specifications, standards, and legislation.
Your Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A master's degree in engineering, preferably in mechanical engineering, rail vehicle construction, or industrial engineering.
- Initial experience in an engineering or project management-related activity, e.g., through working student activities.
- Basic knowledge in 3D-CAD, and ideally in SAP PLM.
- Ideal knowledge in rail vehicle technology and/or interior design.
- Experience in the material fields of fiber composites, wood, metals, glass, as well as with lighting systems and/or bonding technology is an advantage.
- A very good command of written and spoken English, further language skills (esp. German) are a plus.
