Your role as Communications and Media Relations Lead is vital in shaping and maintaining Omio's reputation with consumer, business, and trade media. This position entails crafting press releases, orchestrating PR initiatives, and fostering media relationships. Collaborating closely with the Head of Communications and the social media team, you will stay ahead of social and consumer trends, develop PR strategies, manage our agencies, and communicate our achievements through reports and presentations. We are looking for a proactive individual with a positive mindset to embrace this dynamic role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the VP of Brand & Communications and Head of Communications to devise and execute the PR strategy, serving as a liaison between the media, our international agency network, and internal stakeholders.
- Create and disseminate communication materials for the media, including press releases, statements, talking points, proactive pitches, data-driven pitches, and consumer insight reports in English and other languages.
- Assist the Head of Communications in producing effective PR strategies for earned and owned media, collaborating with agencies and the social media team to craft and pitch compelling narratives.
- Partner with our data and user research team to extract valuable customer insights from our travel data and develop engaging data-driven stories for PR and social media.
- Build and maintain relationships with local, national, and international journalists across various media outlets.
- Oversee the press room, develop strategies and tools to enhance media visibility, monitor outcomes, and provide feedback on media requirements.
- Communicate insights and successes to stakeholders through newsletters and reports.
- Stay informed about consumer and social media trends and manage our PR content calendar.
- Design and oversee unique travel experiences for journalists and VIPs.
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Outstanding writing abilities in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
- Interest in cultural trends, social media developments, industry news, and travel insights to identify key storytelling opportunities for Omio.
- Experience collaborating with or within a social media team.
- Knowledge of SEO, digital PR, and content growth strategies is highly valued.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively to launch new initiatives and establish processes.
- Experience in transforming data into compelling narratives.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, PR, communications, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in public relations, communications, or related fields.
- Proven ability to establish and guide stakeholder processes collaboratively and effectively.
- Familiarity with emerging trends in communication, analytics, and reporting.
