Your Role

At sewts, we are dedicated to transforming automation in industries that have yet to embrace it. The manipulation of flexible materials, such as textiles, presents unique challenges for robotic systems, which often struggle with the nuanced understanding required for such tasks. Our mission is to empower industrial robots with advanced perception capabilities.

We are developing an innovative technology platform known as sewts.JUPITER. This platform leverages generative AI to accurately simulate the dynamics of soft and deformable materials, enabling the creation of sophisticated computer vision models and grasping techniques. For the first time, our robots are equipped to manage delicate materials effectively. With substantial funding, we aim to revolutionize sectors like textile manufacturing, recycling, and e-commerce.

Your Contributions:

  • Support the design and creation of automation components, utilizing mechatronic principles to develop efficient and dependable systems;
  • Work alongside the team to evaluate automation solutions, gather and interpret data, and suggest enhancements based on your analysis;
  • Acquire hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, PLCs, and other essential elements of automation technology;
  • Assist in generating engineering documentation and CAD designs to facilitate the development process;
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to address intricate engineering problems.
Your Qualifications
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline;
  • Solid grasp of mechatronics and automation concepts, with a keen interest in robotics technology;
  • Practical experience in designing and constructing automation projects, including proficiency in CAD software (preferably INVENTOR);
  • Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles and their relevance to automation;
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach;
  • Effective communication skills in English (German is a significant advantage) and the ability to collaborate in a multicultural team setting.
