About the Job

We are seeking a skilled software engineer to expand our R&D team in Hamburg, Germany. Our team works on the Qt Quality Assurance tools offering, focusing on the development of 'Squish', a program for automating tests on graphical user interfaces (GUIs) on a wide range of platforms. We also develop 'Coco', a complete code coverage tool for various languages, and 'Test Center', a central server for storing and viewing test results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain our product Squish GUI Tester
  • Work on various aspects of Squish, with a focus on tasks involving the Windows platform support
  • Deep dive into automation of different Windows UI toolkits
  • Participate in code reviews and experience-sharing sessions within your team and with other teams
  • Work independently on assigned tasks
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve and expand the products
  • Communicate with customers regarding bug reports and feature requests

About You:

  • Proven experience with software development using C++ or C#
  • Experience with software development and debugging workflows on Windows (MSVC or MinGW)
  • Experience with a version control system (we use git) and a bug tracking system (we use JIRA)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Ruby)
  • Experience with Windows UI toolkits (Win32 C API, MFC, WPF, Windows Forms, COM) is a plus
  • Experience with testing approaches (unit, component, or UI testing) is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within the team and across departments
  • Advanced knowledge of English (our corporate language)
