About the Role

M.C. Dean is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician 4 to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Engineering Operations & Maintenance division, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and optimal performance of HVAC systems within our facility.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of engineering systems and equipment, monitoring operations and maintaining equipment logs.
  • Mentor less experienced HVAC technicians to ensure knowledge transfer and skill development.
  • Operate and maintain site-critical engineering systems and equipment, adhering to diagrams, operating manuals, industry best practices, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Monitor and control building equipment, operating facility BAS systems.
  • Disable and re-arm fire alarm panels as required.
  • Utilize test equipment and devices to analyze results and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform maintenance on engineering systems and equipment, including chillers, IFU, VAV, HVAC controls, and fire and life safety system sprinkler systems.
  • Inspect and adjust mechanical equipment and systems, performing preventive maintenance and general maintenance functions while adhering to energy models for building efficiency.
  • Record and report faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences, responding to emergency situations and performing tasks necessary for occupant and property protection.
  • Under minimal supervision, perform data center or mission-critical environment maintenance activities.
  • Operate and maintain critical systems, including HVAC, CRAC units, life safety, and building automated systems, and utility systems.
Requirements
  • Over 10 years of commercial HVAC experience with a high school degree or GED.
  • Completion of a HVAC technical training program in a vocational or technical school or a recognized apprenticeship program is preferred.
  • Top Secret Clearance Required.
Abilities
  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet, climbs, and maintains balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
