You will be an integral member of our empowered, agile team responsible for the SAP Signavio Process Manager. As a Senior Engineer, your contributions will be vital in designing solutions for our business process modeling and simulation software, focusing on creating a shared understanding of application architecture, code, and performance at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in system architecture and design discussions
• Demonstrate expertise in Object-oriented programming, particularly in languages like Java.
• Develop, test, and maintain backend code, implementing robust and scalable solutions for the SAP Signavio Process Manager.
• Set an example through hands-on coding, code reviews, and adherence to best practices in software development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of backend services with front-end applications and other systems.
• Embrace agility and adaptability, ensuring the team delivers high-quality solutions within specified timelines.
• Participate actively in an agile development environment, contributing to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Identify new opportunities and advocate for improvements to enhance product quality and team processes.
Qualifications:
• A master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of proven experience in backend development, focusing on scalable and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in relevant technologies such as Java, Python, or similar languages.
• A passion for writing clean, well-tested code.
• Experience in safely and efficiently refactoring large codebases.
• Familiarity with migrating monolithic architectures to microservices.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL or SQL databases, with a preference for those skilled in database optimizations.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and related cloud technologies is a significant advantage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
• Fluency in English is essential.

The Business Modeling and Workflow (BM&W) group is one of five teams within the engineering department of Signavio. We prioritize consistency, modularity, reusability, and simplicity. Our goal is to deliver a coherent user experience across our product suite while ensuring an effective cross-product development process. Our teams are responsible for delivering core products such as the SAP Signavio Process Manager and Governance components.
