Job Overview

Fugro is in search of a Marine Survey Specialist to become a vital member of our Marine Asset Integrity division. This department is dedicated to global offshore Positioning, Survey Construction (PCS), and Inspection initiatives.

As a Marine Survey Specialist, you will play a crucial role within the Offshore Survey Team, concentrating on the mobilization and operation of positioning and survey instruments. This includes the acquisition and quality assurance of data aboard offshore vessels. The position is diverse, providing opportunities to not only set up, test, and operate a range of cutting-edge survey and positioning technologies, such as Fugro's Vision Technology and Low Logistics Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, but also to gather, organize, and present findings from various survey sensors.

Your Responsibilities
  • Execute positioning and navigation tasks while managing projects of low complexity;
  • Ensure accurate offsets, measurements, and calibrations of positioning tools, along with the setup and/or operation of survey instruments;
  • Conduct acquisition of survey data, including computations, in-field data processing, and the compilation of survey reports;
  • Oversee the quality control of data, computations, and reports;
  • Perform administrative tasks, including the compilation of project procedures and maintaining a precise and complete logbook;
Qualifications
  • BSc. degree in Hydrographic Surveying, Geodetic Surveying, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable role;
  • Prior offshore experience on various survey projects and willingness to work offshore for approximately 195 days annually;
  • Experience in the calibration and verification of survey sensors for both surface and subsea positioning, with proficiency in the setup and operation of commonly used survey instruments, such as GNSS, Gyro, MRU, USBL, and ideally also with MBES, USBL, LBL INS, and Digital Video;
  • Strong understanding of real-time positioning principles, data acquisition, and data quality control, along with proficiency in online survey software;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to technical challenges, and strong communication abilities in English (both written and spoken).
