Cost Management Specialist

Job Summary:
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced construction-based Cost Manager to join our team of experts in Frankfurt. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services across the full project lifecycle, including pre and post-contract duties, feasibility studies, and cost planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre and post-contract duties, including preparation of cost estimates, procurement, and tendering, contract administration, variation, final account, etc.
- Completing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
- Estimating and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
- Tendering and procurement activity, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, preliminaries, tender analysis, tender report, and compiling the contractual documents.
- Taking responsibility for timely and accurate cost checks and valuations.
- Producing monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
- Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
- Participating effectively in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
- Performing cost risk analysis and providing input into value engineering; negotiating and approving final accounts.
- Maintaining central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects and contributing to updating best practices in estimating.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management/quantity surveying services across the full project lifecycle.
- Experience of leading cost management commissions for large construction projects of high complexity.
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters.
- English skills are required, as well as basic German skills (min. B1), and a willingness to improve German language skills.
- Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Sound organisational skills; ability to multi-task and be a team player.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software and tools.
- Working knowledge of cost databases and/or estimating software is advantageous.
