- You will oversee several major direct material categories and lead global commodity teams with members from all relevant locations.
- You will develop and manage material group strategies and action plans (e.g., concerning analysis, planning, implementation, global and local supplier mix, product contingents, etc.).
- You will gather information from vendors, suppliers, and publishers regarding costs, ordering instructions, and returns, while maintaining relationships with these parties.
- You will achieve Group savings targets for the respective material categories and implement the agreed strategies across all individual locations.
- You will lead group negotiations with suppliers in coordination with multiple locations.
- You will develop and engage with existing suppliers critical to the Group, identify and introduce new suppliers as necessary, or transfer existing suppliers to other Group locations.
- You will serve as the escalation point for local units in case of supplier issues (e.g., negotiation support for significant claims).
- You will monitor supplier performance based on KPIs (i.e., On-Time Delivery, Quality).
- You will deliver results based on costs, days payable outstanding, on-time delivery, and quality.
- You will act as a consultant to communicate and coach procurement organizations in introducing new suppliers.
- You will assist in new supplier validation audits (if required).
- You will prepare reports and present progress at project meetings.
- You will conduct benchmarking studies to identify best practices/designs and future trends.
- You will perform budget analysis as needed and prepare reports and data analysis for management.
- You will manage claims with vendors and develop appropriate settlement plans.
- You have several years of experience as a Lead Buyer or in leading cross-functional teams within the industrial business environment, preferably in the transformer industry.
- You hold a degree in industrial engineering, business administration, or comparable qualifications.
- You possess exceptional skills in analytics, project and process management, self-organization, structuring, prioritization, assertiveness, and teamwork, along with strong communication abilities with internal and external stakeholders.
- You are business fluent in English and experienced in negotiations and Microsoft Office.
- You are willing to travel up to 30%.
