External Communications Specialist

Your Responsibilities
DB SCHENKER is seeking a Communication Manager specializing in logistics and external communications (f/m/d). In this role, you will be responsible for crafting engaging content and overseeing initiatives focused on external communications. You will collaborate within a compact team of professionals in the Global Team Content & Internal Communications, producing and disseminating a continuous flow of captivating content through various channels, including social media, blogs, and the corporate website. You will report directly to the Global Head of Content and Internal Communications. Your contributions will play a crucial role in enhancing the global DB SCHENKER brand and supporting campaigns in alignment with other teams within the global MarCom division.
Main Duties:
- Creation of short video content to highlight communication themes.
- Assist in video production at the DB SCHENKER studio.
- Collaborate with and manage external service providers, including editors and videographers.
- Oversee and enhance existing editorial formats across diverse media.
- Ensure the creation and distribution of compelling narratives that convey our brand's core messages and the value of our products and services, contributing to ongoing strategic messaging in collaboration with Business and Functional Units as well as regional and cluster teams.
- Conduct research, implement, and coordinate communication topics, data, and figures that illustrate DB SCHENKER's core messages, working closely with Marketing & Communications teams from various regions and clusters, as well as business and functional units.
Qualifications
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in German and/or other European languages is advantageous.
- Strategic, conceptual, and analytical skills, with a structured approach complemented by strong business acumen and entrepreneurial thinking; self-organization, personal accountability, and critical thinking skills, along with exceptional copywriting abilities.
- Proven experience in project management, as well as in managing and influencing matrix structures and interfaces, including freelancers and external agencies, to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Practical experience with fundamental production steps for video-related content (basic skills in video shooting, editing, posting, and technical support for studio productions).
- Strong command of language, particularly in corporate multimedia storytelling and social media within a B2B context.
- Outstanding copywriting, editing, and journalistic skills in English, with a preference for proficiency in German.
