Process Automation Specialist

About the Role
The "Systems and Processes Team" within RWE Supply & Trading GmbH is responsible for the operation and development of various core operational systems for the commercialization and control of one of Europe's largest fleets of power stations. With over 20 GW of installed capacity across various asset classes, including conventional, renewable, and storage, the team is focused on improving the SCADA system infrastructure that connects optimization systems with power stations.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and backtest system behavior to identify issues and improve stability
- Support operational users, including participation in the 24/7 remote on-call service
- Implement control connections and internal modeling for new assets
- Develop new functionalities and automate processes within the SCADA systems and their environment to translate business and TSO requirements to SCADA solutions
- Collaborate extensively with operative business users, IT, modeling experts, asset operators, grid operators, and software suppliers
- Provide stakeholder management towards various interest groups
- Support the development of a long-term picture for the SCADA system landscape
Requirements
- Degree or extensive work experience in a relevant subject, e.g., mathematics, engineering, natural science, or a related field, preferably combined with a commercial education or background
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills to suit the complexity of the systems and their interdependencies
- Ability to independently assess various approaches to solving tasks and reach decisions in a structured manner
- Effective communication of complex matters with stakeholders from different levels of expertise and backgrounds
- Excellent team player and professionalism in collaboration with stakeholders
- Courage to address problems, gaps, and development needs in a solution-oriented and constructive manner, taking into account diverse perspectives on the topic
- Fluent language skills in German
