PhD Position in Machine Learning for Autonomous Driving

Embark on a challenging journey with our ProMotion PhD programme at BMW Group, where you can apply your expertise to tackle real-world problems in the field of autonomous driving. As a PhD candidate, you will have the opportunity to delve into a practice-related thesis, focusing on the deployment and optimization of cutting-edge Machine Learning methods for End-to-End models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and design hardware-centric network topologies for real-time systems using various sensor inputs, such as cameras and radars.
  • Implement models on a specialized System-on-Chip (SoC) for in-vehicle tests with real-world evaluation.
  • Collaborate with a seasoned team of researchers and Machine Learning engineers at our facilities.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related fields.
  • Strong background in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Low-Level Sensor Fusion.
  • Proficient in PyTorch/TensorFlow and modern programming tools like Docker and Git.
  • Hands-on experience deploying neural networks and familiarity with hardware accelerators software implementation.
  • Independent problem-solving abilities, collaborative team player, excellent English and communication skills.
