Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nautische Assistentin / Nautischer Assistent (m/w/d) to join our team at WSA-Elbe-Nordsee. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing nautical support and assistance to our Wachleiter (Watch Officer) in the evaluation of navigation data and the identification of potential hazards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process ship reports and notifications
  • Support the Wachleiter in the evaluation of navigation data and the identification of potential hazards
  • Provide information to shipping companies and other stakeholders
  • Monitor and manage lot releases and navigation aids
  • Conduct remote monitoring of navigation aids and alert systems
  • Support the Wachleiter in traffic management and navigation
Requirements:
  • Completed training in nautical studies and a minimum of a Nautischer Wachoffizier (Nautical Watch Officer) certificate
  • General Radio Operator's Certificate (GOC)
  • Good physical and mental health for shift work
  • Excellent English language skills (B2 level or higher)
  • Fluent German language skills (written and spoken)
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Concentration, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Recent sea experience in commercial shipping
