About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join our team at econnext AG. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-native data processing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Data Processing Systems: Conceptualize and implement creative solutions across different layers of our solution stack, leveraging big data technologies and cloud-native DataOps.
  • Develop and Maintain System Components: Develop and maintain system components, including microservices, data management systems, and cloud infrastructure, using languages such as Python and Terraform.
  • Prototyping and Proof of Concepts: Rapidly translate new ideas and feedback into system features in tight collaboration with other teams, using agile methodologies and CI/CD processes.
  • Data Sourcing and Pre-processing: Source and pre-process ESG and financial data, using techniques such as web scraping, text mining, and natural language processing.
  • Technical Documentation: Write and review technical documentation on system design, cloud/data architecture, and revisions thereof.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Good knowledge of Python and related ecosystems for big data engineering, as well as experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
  • Cloud-Native Experience: First experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration, with a strong understanding of cloud-native data processing systems.
  • Communication Skills: Highly proficient in spoken and written German and English, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Natural/Social Science, or another field with a technical focus.
