Your Responsibilities
  • Analyze test requests and collaborate with the design team for refinement
  • Primarily focus on wind tunnel testing while also providing support for other propulsion test initiatives as needed
  • Develop comprehensive test concepts
  • Design detailed test and measurement setups
  • Coordinate with technicians, suppliers, and support teams
  • Plan test execution, including procedures and risk assessments
  • Execute tests hands-on
  • Process data and compile results for reporting
  • Create and review engineering documentation related to test setups and outcomes
  • Provide feedback to the design team for product enhancements
  • Assist in resource and workload planning, coordinating with interfacing teams
  • Promote a safe working environment in the laboratory
  • Continuously learn about test articles and methodologies, sharing knowledge with the team
Your Profile
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (M.Sc/M.Eng preferred)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in propulsion testing, particularly in wind tunnel testing
  • Proficient in measurement methods and instrumentation
  • Skilled in data analysis and post-processing
  • Familiarity with aerospace testing processes, methods, and best practices is advantageous
  • Experience in testing multi-kW electrical machines is a plus
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (Siemens NX preferred) is beneficial
  • Motivated individual capable of questioning and challenging assumptions
  • Ability to work with incomplete requirements and anticipate customer needs
  • High self-reliance and capability to work within a diverse team
  • Target-oriented work style with strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German or other languages is a plus
  • Willingness to travel to external facilities for test execution (approximately 15% of the time)
