Purpose
The Senior Logistics Manager for Wholesale Operations at Adidas is tasked with independently overseeing critical aspects of forecasting and short-term outbound planning. This role is essential in driving operational fulfillment, analyzing distribution center (DC) performance, and ensuring transparency across the European DC network. Additionally, managing special handling and value-added requirements driven by wholesale customers is vital for success.

This position is responsible for the timely preparation and processing of DC data to measure, interpret, and anticipate constraints within a three-month horizon across the European DC network, creating solution proposals for distribution. The role continuously innovates reporting formats and detail levels to meet DC and business requirements promptly, providing a solid foundation for senior management decision-making.

Acting as the single point of contact for DC capacities and capabilities, this position collaborates with DC heads and key stakeholders to initiate and drive actions that optimize on-time, in-full (OTIF) performance across the network while achieving financial targets. This is based on consolidated business forecasts that require alignment.

Furthermore, managing wholesale and multi-channel service unit (MSU) order and service level agreement (SLA) management is crucial for the success of the European wholesale business. This includes tracking day-to-day target achievements and initiating effective actions in case of non-compliance to ensure month-end targets are met.

To provide best-in-class service to wholesale customers, this role involves managing stock availability through market-to-market transfers, including de-customization, and handling value-added service requests such as labeling and tagging. The position is responsible for the implementation process from request to go-live.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Wholesale Logistics & Business Intelligence team, setting clear objectives and fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring diversity.
  • Implement and adhere to strategies and business tactics in operational plans and daily routines.
  • Make informed day-to-day decisions within a complex business environment, ensuring efficient flow of goods and services in collaboration with supply chain management and business functions.
  • Capture, challenge, align, and consolidate forecasts across all channels for all DCs in Europe into standardized formats, driving optimized forecast accuracy.
  • Create outbound and throughput plans for the European distribution network for the next three months, including gap analysis and countermeasure initiation.
  • Manage daily wholesale business operations, reviewing and analyzing order books and outbound target achievements, and aligning with DC heads to address backlog situations.
  • Oversee special handling and value-added service requirements, ensuring alignment with business stakeholders and customers.
  • Manage DC data and maintain reporting transparency through various systems to monitor KPIs, productivity, and throughput progress.
  • Ensure smooth communication and connection between all relevant stakeholders across all organizational levels.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office, Power BI, and SQL.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven experience.
  • Extensive background in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of leading discussions in diverse groups.
  • Leadership qualities with a commitment to team development and motivation.
  • Fluent in English and German, both verbal and written.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least five years of work experience, preferably in Supply Chain Management.
  • A minimum of two years in a management position, including people management experience.
