Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Procurement EMEALA Team as a Category Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, implementing, analyzing, and executing regional Strategic Procurement activities related to assigned Direct Materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to improve business process productivity, reduce costs, and procurement-related expenses while improving profitability and increasing Trade Working Capital (TWC) aligned with business units' requirements.
- Support regional procurement teams by enhancing strategy and leveraging expertise and knowledge of the region.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, including day-to-day operations, issues, and escalations.
- Work effectively with business unit leaders globally to ensure alignment of the global strategy and adoption of best practices.
- Research, identify, negotiate, and register appropriate service providers by region/country to support business unit and plant operations.
- Develop relationships with business unit regional procurement managers to effectively leverage expertise across the organization.
- Develop business review formats and common scorecards to evaluate ongoing performance.
- Stay informed of market trends and regulation changes that may affect business operations and communicate impacts proactively.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience in procurement roles in direct materials (preferably metals), working in an international environment.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze and learn cost structure models in many different regions.
- Proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively across channels, with business unit personnel, purchasing staff, to achieve understanding of business goals.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
