Job Title: Division Lead for Additive Manufacturing Innovation

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to lead our additive manufacturing innovation efforts at the Technical University of Munich. As a Division Lead, you will be responsible for building an institutional AM alliance between TUM and industry, driving research in additive manufacturing innovation and application, and fostering collaborations with industry partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and adapt AM technologies for industry-specific applications
  • Lead prototyping and demonstrator projects
  • Ensure knowledge dissemination through documentation and publications
  • Solicit third-party funds in cooperation with ministries, industry, and EU/national funding associations
  • Lectures and courses in the field of additive manufacturing
  • Communication with industry networks, academic partners, and politics
Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Technology, Material Science, Physics, or comparable fields
  • Proven background in metal additive manufacturing processes is mandatory
  • Several years of professional experience in industry is strongly recommended
  • Previous post-doctoral experience is favorable
  • Determination and independent working style as well as teamwork and communication skills
  • German and English language skills
