Customer Service Sales Associate

POSITION OVERVIEW
At Columbia Sportswear Company, our retail team plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer experiences across our extensive network of over 430 stores globally. Our associates are pivotal in ensuring product availability, crafting engaging visual displays, addressing customer inquiries, and facilitating a smooth checkout process. This role is designed to foster memorable interactions while supporting our mission of "Connecting Active People with Their Passions."
As a Retail Associate II, you will embody our brand values by providing outstanding customer service and contributing to the store's profitability and overall customer experience. Your natural problem-solving skills and sales acumen will enable you to effectively address customer questions and make persuasive product recommendations, all while promoting teamwork and customer service excellence. This position is specifically designated for those participating in the Key Holder Program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries regarding product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to discern their needs and preferences, demonstrating merchandise and suggesting suitable options.
- Uphold store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from various locations within the store.
- Execute all cash register transactions accurately and efficiently, including sales, returns, exchanges, and customer loyalty program enrollments.
- Enhance store profitability by managing incoming and outgoing product flow with precision and efficiency.
- Perform keyholder responsibilities as necessary, which may include opening and closing the store.
QUALIFICATIONS
- No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
- Up to 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in operating Point of Sale (POS) systems and other in-store technology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently operates in a dynamic environment that may involve physical activity, including lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule that may vary seasonally and in response to business trends.
