Position Overview:

As a Sustainability Consultant specializing in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) at Sphera Solutions GmbH, you will play a pivotal role in guiding our clients towards more sustainable practices. Your expertise will be essential in assisting organizations with the measurement and reporting of product and corporate sustainability. This role encompasses the development of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) utilizing our advanced GaBi software, alongside preparing results based on Life Cycle Assessments and engaging in various sustainability-focused initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Overseeing multiple consulting projects that focus on Life Cycle Assessment, feasibility studies, Total Cost of Ownership analyses, and sustainability strategies for products and corporations.
  • Developing LCA models for products or services using GaBi software.
  • Composing reports that comply with ISO 14040/44 standards to document your project activities.
  • Utilizing Excel and other data formats to analyze and manipulate data structures.
  • Conducting assessments on energy consumption, water usage, waste management, air emissions, and associated costs.
  • Preparing and delivering project findings in various formats, including PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ensuring that all projects meet defined scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Collaborating with Sphera team members across diverse specialties and regions on topics such as energy transitions, alternative fuels, and green chemistry.
  • Building and maintaining strong, lasting relationships with existing clients.
  • Travel may be required on a project basis, up to 20% of your time.
Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proactive and positive attitude.
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • A strong interest in sustainability, environmental systems, life cycle thinking, and climate change.
  • Experience in managing small to medium-sized project teams.
  • A solid quantitative or technical background with a keen analytical mindset, demonstrating curiosity in problem-solving and research.
  • A willingness to learn new software, with some basic programming knowledge being advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex issues and preparing formal reports.
  • Self-motivation and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • A commitment to supporting businesses in achieving their sustainability goals.
