About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our R&D team in Hamburg, Germany. Our team works on the Qt Quality Assurance tools offering, developing innovative solutions for automating tests on graphical user interfaces (GUIs) on various platforms. Our flagship product is 'Squish', a program for automating tests on GUIs, and we also develop 'Coco', a complete code coverage tool for multiple languages, and 'Test Center', a central server for storing and viewing test results.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain our product Squish GUI Tester
  • Work on multiple aspects of Squish, with a focus on tasks involving the Windows platform support
  • Deep dive into automation of different Windows UI toolkits
  • Participate in code reviews and experience-sharing sessions within your team and with other teams
  • Work independently on your assigned tasks
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve and expand the products
  • Be in contact with our customers regarding bug reports and feature requests

About You:

  • Solid experience with software development using C++ or C# is a must
  • Experience with software development and debugging workflows on Windows (MSVC or MinGW)
  • Experience with a version control & a bug tracking system, we use git and JIRA
  • Knowledge of any scripting language, such as JavaScript, Python, or Ruby
  • Experience with one or more Windows UI toolkits (Win32 C API, MFC, WPF, Windows Forms, COM) is a plus
  • Experience with one or more testing approaches, like unit, component, or UI testing, is a plus
  • Ability to facilitate clear communication within the team and across departments for effective collaboration
  • Advanced knowledge in English, both written and spoken (English is our corporate language)
