The Supply Chain division oversees all aspects of S&OP, Planning, Customer Service, Master Data, Procurement (Operational Buyers), and Inventory Control at Catalent, Schorndorf. This role entails supervising all operations and personnel within the Supply Chain division, providing guidance for Customer Services, Planning, S&OP, Master Data, and Material Management.
The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for coordinating and executing initiatives to achieve strategic goals within the department, seeking direction from their direct supervisor or peers as necessary. Furthermore, this position requires the ability to set objectives, oversee work practices for direct reports, and interpret and implement policies and procedures that impact organizational units. At this senior level, extensive independent judgment is essential, along with the capability to engage with senior leadership and align site strategy with corporate vision and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Formulate and implement site Supply Chain strategy in alignment with Business, Operations, and Quality objectives. Oversee Commercial supply agreements, ensuring optimal service levels and timely delivery to clients. Address and resolve current and anticipated service challenges through a robust cross-functional S&OP process. Establish and manage the planning and S&OP function to guarantee efficient processing of customer orders. Collaborate closely with operations and quality teams to devise production and laboratory capacity plans and strategies for both the medium and long term. Negotiate and oversee supply agreements, coordinating Supply Chain-related matters with clients. Serve as the liaison between the customer and Operations Team, actively participating in the development and execution of Catalent (Schorndorf) logistics and planning strategy. Perform additional duties as assigned.Candidate Profile
MS degree (preferred) with over 10 years of experience in providing strategic and operational leadership within a customer-focused planning and logistics environment. Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector (CDMO preferred) is essential, with senior leadership/board accountability for Supply Chain. Experience managing Supply Chain in an ERP setting (notable systems like JD Edwards), with a background in system implementation. Significant experience in managing personnel and delivering both tactical and strategic leadership to the organization and site. As the point of contact with the customer and Operations Team, contribute to the development and execution of Catalent (Schorndorf) logistics and planning strategy.
