Role Overview
The chosen candidate will be a vital member of the engineering compliance division, taking a significant role in overseeing regulatory adherence within Amazon's EU fulfillment network facilities.
This position requires collaboration across various departments, including engineering, operations, commercial, and legal teams. Key Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing technical regulatory compliance for Amazon's fulfillment centers, focusing on building codes, workplace safety, fire safety, environmental regulations, and necessary permits.
- Identifying and managing compliance-related risks through interdisciplinary collaboration, engaging appropriate stakeholders to mitigate risks.
- Governance of licenses and permits at both site and regional levels.
- Conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with all permits and regulatory requirements, including the procurement of necessary services and management of external consultants.
- Spotting opportunities for process improvements and developing new tools and mechanisms.
- Working closely with construction and engineering teams to ensure compliance management throughout the design and construction phases of new buildings and renovations.
- Providing change management support to operational teams regarding modifications in Amazon facilities, coaching key teams on compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Preparing detailed reports, specifications, and technical analyses; recommending solutions to enhance facility infrastructure, safety, and security.
- Serving as the primary contact for site leadership and other operational leaders concerning compliance, including risk management and program-level reporting.
- Mentoring new team members on best practices and coordinating relevant training initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in architecture, engineering, construction, surveying, or a related field.
- Professional experience in compliance management, permit management, engineering, or construction management.
- Project management and engineering expertise.
- Proficiency in German and English.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Europe, up to 50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in facilities management is advantageous.
- Knowledge of additional languages such as French, Polish, Arabic, or Turkish is considered a plus.
