About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer / Acting Production Manager for Plastic Injection Molding to join our team at Wirthwein. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and process improvements in our plastic injection molding operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technology scouting to identify new technologies and processes, and implement them in our production environment.
- Develop and maintain standards for production equipment.
- Support the planning of production systems and cells for new product launches, as well as the design of injection molding machines and the creation of load profiles.
- Collaborate with our customer teams to provide quotes and proposals.
- Perform quality control checks, including the determination of process parameters and cycle times, and ensure the successful launch of new products into production.
- Act as a competence center for all application engineers within the Wirthwein group, providing training and support to colleagues.
- Plan and optimize personnel, material, and equipment resources.
- Work closely with the tooling and maintenance, quality assurance, logistics, order processing, and project management teams.
Requirements
- A successful completion of a training as a process mechanic for plastic and rubber technology and a further education as a technician/master or a study with a focus on plastic technology.
- Several years of experience in a comparable position.
- Knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling technology, and various production and special processes in injection molding.
- Analytical and methodical thinking, as well as a quality-conscious approach.
- Teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to travel, as well as good English language skills.
