Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Developer to join our small back-end team in Munich or Berlin. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with our product team to improve our existing architecture and increase productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Product Owner to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable, and high-quality Ruby code.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to improve existing architecture and increase productivity.
  • Conduct, manage, and enforce code reviews.
  • Develop features from start to finish, refactoring legacy code to increase stability and performance, with continual testing for reliability.
  • Maintain code quality and identify bottlenecks, bugs, and invent solutions for these problems.

Requirements

  • University degree in Computer Science or similar educational background.
  • 5+ years of work experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer.
  • Several years of experience building Ruby on Rails applications, along with other common libraries such as Rspec, Puma, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Sidekiq, Monitoring tools (New Relic/TICK).
  • Advance testing skills (Rspec, Capybara).
  • Strong JavaScript skills.
  • Capable of scaling applications.
  • Advance DB skills.
  • Experience with agile work environments.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus).
