Research Associate for the HABBAL Project in Fish Ecophysiology and Toxicology
About the Project:The HABBAL project focuses on determining the tolerance limits of fish to toxic algae such as Prymnesium parvum. This research aims to improve the risk assessment of harmful algal blooms in the Baltic Sea and develop early warning systems and preventive measures.
Responsibilities:- Conduct ecotoxicological experiments with fish, including behavioural tests and measurements of metabolic performance.
- Collaborate with scientists in the fields of molecular ecotoxicology, genetics, biochemistry, and socioeconomics within the HABBAL consortium.
- Pursue independent research and further academic qualifications.
- University degree in a relevant field, plus doctorate.
- Doctoral degree in aquatic ecology, ecophysiology, and/or ecotoxicology.
- Experience in fish care and fish experiments, handling of aquaculture technology, knowledge of biostatistics and programming (R, Python).
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
