Position Overview
Abbott GmbH is seeking a Senior Manager for IT Projects in the E-Commerce DACH region. This role reports to the Director of Digital Technology Services and is responsible for comprehensive IT program leadership, focusing on the evolution of eCommerce solutions. The position involves establishing a regional service organization that supports the Diabetes Care business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Project Initiation and Planning
- Grasp Abbott's strategic vision and market demands to deliver exceptional digital and eCommerce solutions.
- Collaborate with the Business Operations team to ensure operational stability through effective management of production activities.
- Maintain and report on the stability of the operational environment.
- Partner with stakeholders to uphold compliance with security and operational standards.
- Facilitate smooth transitions of new features into operations with the project delivery team.
- Work with executive management to define project goals and business cases, coordinating activities across organizational units.
- Collaborate with Business Relationship Managers to balance project demand with capacity, optimizing delivery through prioritization frameworks.
- Set priorities for program teams and select methodologies to guide a portfolio of programs to successful completion.
Delivery Model Management
- Foster a customer-centric culture focused on success and brand reputation.
- Oversee IT delivery and product management teams through the agile development of minimum viable products and enhancements.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects, enhancements, and platform updates.
- Utilize best practices to create detailed project plans, managing dependencies and critical paths.
- Promote Agile methodologies across the organization, mentoring project managers and development teams.
- Cultivate a culture of agility and continuous improvement, ensuring rapid and quality deployment of new features.
- Make informed trade-offs to optimize time-to-market while clearly communicating goals and responsibilities.
- Monitor program performance, including financials, ensuring alignment with original budget plans.
- Establish frameworks to track milestones and objectives, proactively identifying risks and issues.
Team and Resource Management
- Recruit and lead a high-performing software engineering and digital product team.
- Implement effective performance management through goal setting and constructive feedback.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement to balance delivery with operational excellence.
- Coordinate resources to meet program and business needs through proactive management.
- Mentor and motivate cross-functional project teams.
- Oversee supplier resource strategies to ensure successful portfolio delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
- At least 13 years of experience in delivering large-scale IT solutions.
- Familiarity with digital marketing, eCommerce, and related technologies.
- Proven experience managing complex programs with cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership skills with knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Broad IT expertise across various disciplines, including Agile development and cloud infrastructure.
- Financial acumen and understanding of company financial practices.
- Experience in a global organization with strategic sourcing partners.
- Background in FDA-regulated environments is preferred.
- Hands-on software engineering experience is a plus.
